JACKAL MUSIC“INNERSTATE provides a glimpse into the lives of Outer Shapes, a wildly intimate portrait of emotional depth and complex relationships.”OCT 24, 2026 ↗ THE WAVYS“The storytelling is poignant and raw…You can tell they take the time the art deserves to feel meaningful.”OCT 3, 2026 ↗ ADAM'S WORLD“‘AFTERMATH’ is a song we could all use at certain points in our life … or week. The lyric, ‘There’s a little that makes sense, and a lot that never will’ is one of my favorites in quite some time.”SEPT 23, 2026 ↗ BANDNADA“It’s disruptive art in the best way, comforting the disturbed and disturbing the comfortable… OH, and see them live if you can. One of the best acts I’ve witnessed all year.”OCT 15, 2026 ↗ HAPPY MAG“Outer Shapes lock themselves in the home studio and come out with something that demands you feel every last feeling.””SEPT 15, 2026 ↗ SOUNDVSYSTEM“Some bands whisper the darkest truths. New York’s Outer Shapes screams them.”MAR 31, 2026 ↗ TURN AND WORK“The closer you get to these songs, the more it feels like you’re intruding on something. Not reading someone’s diary, but watching their nightmares.”MAR 13, 2026 ↗ VARIETY“Chappell Roan, Alok, Stress Dolls, Outer Shapes were among the top winners at New York’s fourth annual Wavy Awards.”SEPT 16, 2024 ↗ BANDS DO BK“Outer Shapes serve up an energy-packed live show that combines costumes, projections and a whopping five instruments—including some very tasteful tuba—between the two artists.”SEPT 15, 2025 ↗ INDIE SCIENTIST“There’s a good blend of genres on this EP, but I would say it mostly leans toward early 2010s indie pop rock, delivering smooth and honey-like vocals over upbeat tracks.”APRIL 1, 2026 ↗ ADAM'S WORLD“Outer Shapes are the out of this world duo of Laura Shkouratoff and C Santos.”MARCH 11, 2026 ↗

FEEL ALL YOUR FEELINGS // NYC

We’re Laura + C.

Outer Shapes is a duo with a relentless itch to crawl into the darkest corners of our emotions and boil them to the surface. Fiery, hip-hop inspired beats thickly layered with vulnerable lyrics and aching guitar bring listeners into a sonic landscape that could not be more clear-eyed and immediate. Their high-energy sets blur the line between dance party and emotional breakdown, with programmed lights, costumes, crowd participation, live looping, and the two of them nonstop instrument-swapping with 5 instruments, including a tuba.

Outer Shapes’ music making process is a long and intimate feat, as they write and produce all of their music and visual work in their Brooklyn apartment studio, collaborating solely with Passion Pit and Goo Goo Dolls mixing engineer Alex Aldi. Their self-taught nature eggs on a constant flame of creativity, leading to their genre-bending sound that is uniquely theirs, crafting a powerful new area of the queer voice and melding barriers between rock, pop, and alternative sound.
