Outer Shapes is a duo with a relentless itch to crawl into the darkest corners of our emotions and boil them to the surface. Fiery, hip-hop inspired beats thickly layered with vulnerable lyrics and aching guitar bring listeners into a sonic landscape that could not be more clear-eyed and immediate. Their high-energy sets blur the line between dance party and emotional breakdown, with programmed lights, costumes, crowd participation,live looping, and the two of them nonstop instrument-swapping with 5 instruments, including a tuba.

Outer Shapes’ music making process is a long and intimate feat, as they write and produce all of their music and visual work in their Brooklyn apartment studio, collaborating solely with Passion Pit and Goo Goo Dolls mixing engineer Alex Aldi. Their self-taught nature eggs on a constant flame of creativity, leading to their genre-bending sound that is uniquely theirs, crafting a powerful new area of the queer voice and melding barriers between rock, pop, and alternative sound.
