Reader Submission: Connecting to Colors

Listen While You Read
I have struggled with my identity since before I was born, lost in a family of people who never looked inside, never knew how to connect with anyone.
I want to truly know the people I love, now just the comforting parts, but I had to know my own soul first.
There was one night where a bad storm rolled through. Lightning strikes every 30 seconds, a waterfall of rain for an hour.
I was trapped in my car, waiting for it to die down so I could go inside. I like watching storms so it wasn't a problem. I listened to Colors as the storm roared.
It has been a thought that had been building in my head for a long time, but somewhere between Colors and the explosive storm, the words finally escaped my lips.
I wanted to know what all those colors meant, and now I do. I still listen to the song often, and it means a lot to me.
